I don't care about stars or numbers. Art like this can't be reduced to numbers and grades.
The clouds are my favorite, so clear and heavenly. The mega structures are really interesting. They look industrial and abstract. They look like they have LEDs or graphic interfaces glowing out of them, which is really inspiring.
My one criticism is the biggest structure in the foreground doesn't seem to look as interesting as the one in the middle. (maybe that was your intention, the middle does stand out more because of it) I feel the foreground structure should contain some more of those awesome lights and patterns, or at least make the patterns more vibrant.
This piece is like that Old Spice commercial. I look at other art, and then i look at this piece, and sadly, most art isn't like this piece.
The details are simply gorgeous. From every last rusty cog and pipe to the dead trees the speck the frozen wasteland.
But despite the details, the content of the picture is quite vague. Where is he? What are those monstrous structures? Who built them? Why? Maybe it's just me but looking at this amazing landscape fills my head with a ton of ideas.
One problem i do have, though, is that the art is quite cluttered, especially the runic symbols on the structures. Although it gives off that chaotic, steampunk-like feel, it also seems just plain messy.
In the end, though, i still have to admit, this is a pretty epic piece. I hope to see more of this kind in the dA community.
Good luck all you artists out there, and most importantly, have fun. (yes I'm a gamer)
I just wonder, have you painted everything or do you have painted a lot of it, and put together some photos in it? both methods are impressing, mindblown!!
